Commodity Leader - Sourcing

Location :   Either Singapore or Shanghai

Reports to:  Lee Tiak Yong, Regional Director of Asia Pacific Procurement

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a high regard for safety and personal / corporate ethics and integrity
Create and execute sourcing strategy, including meeting cost savings targets for the assigned commodity
Analyze requirements to identify and source suppliers delivering high quality and low cost products
Lead e-Auctions to drive cost out and supplier base diversity for assigned commodity/sub-commodity
Responsible for negotiating prices and commercial terms/issues with suppliers as required and needed to reach INVISTA requirements
Ensure completion of supplier assessment, supplier development, and qualification process
Lead or participate in cross-site teams to implement business/site sourcing strategies
Manage business/site demand for assigned buy supporting planning, order management and fulfillment processes.
Manage all virtual operations/contracting-manufacturing sourcing orders to ensure quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness.
Provide lead contact to suppliers – voice of customer

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Degree in Engineering, Textiles, Polymer Science or related technical discipline
Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in the fibres / textile or contract manufacturing industry doing sourcing, manufacturing, quality, or engineering-related work
Robust information management skills & e-Business experience
Solid interpersonal/presentation/facilitation skills and ability to communicate globally
Proven project management, analytical, and negotiation skills
Ability to work effectively in a cross functional and cross business environment
Proven leadership skills and strategic planning capability
A very good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (ie. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
